I lost hearing and acquired tennitius due to an inapt doctor. I was stuffed up; head full, etc. Although I kept telling the doctor I could not swallow pills (no matter the amount of water; the water went around the pill, gaged me and the water spurted back out) and requested liquid he prescribed pills. Each time it was the same. I finnally told him the medication was not working and I needed penicillian and he said I did not. Finally I went to an Eye, Ear, Nose specialist and found that the infection in my head had gone to my ears and infected the nerve in my ears. This infection caused swelling and the swelling cut off the blood supply which left me with a lot less hearing. It was no slowly as most likely it is with age; prior to this I could hear anything and my grandchildren would tease about how they would be hundreds of feet away only whispering and I could hear them. But, of course, there was nothing I could do to the doctor and his condensending ways.
